Mini Reunion over holidays 2008

I can't believe it's been 2 years since we had our 10 yr reunion...time seems to be flying by. I've caught up with so many people online with Myspace and Facebook lately. I would like to plan a night where we pick a place and have drinks over the holidays. I don't want anything formal at all, just a night to have a good time. Since Christmas Day is on a Thursday this year, I was thinking about meeting up on Friday, December 26th @ 7pm Jack's Place (downtown Moline). Feel free to bring friends/spouses/significant other's with you!

Reunion Aftermath

Well, I just wanted to thank everyone for coming to the reunion, we had a great turnout. I hope everyone had a good time :) I have uploaded some pictures here and I'll try to get them up in the class photo album. Anyone else who has pictures that would like me to put them on the site just email them to me.

Reunion Official Information

Date: Saturday November 25
Where: Putter's Pub & Grill 1524 4th Ave Rock Island (near The District)
Time: 7:00pm room open, appetizers from 8-10pm
Cost: $20/person (collected at the door)

Menu: Assorted Veggie Tray, Swedish Meatballs, Fried Chicken Wings (3 sauces), BBQ Smokey's, Mini sandwiches (turkey & ham), chips & salsa, crab mold dip

One keg of beer will be provided along with a DJ

Putter's has a bar downstairs, but our reunion will be upstairs. We have 2 large rooms that will *seat* 150 people, with plenty more room for more if needed. For those of you who do not drink, I think you'll be plenty satisfied with the location we chose. You have the option to stay away from the keg/liquor area and there's a seperate room available for you to hang out in.

As far as Friday night before, some people have already booked rooms at the Holiday Inn Moline. *If you get a room* you will be able to swim and bring up to 5 people with you. If you feel like coming out just to socialize, there will be an area in the back part of the hotel where the rooms will be that people will be drinking and have snacks and stuff. If you do choose to go to that area, please bring a snack and your own alcohol with you. The Holiday Inn does allow drinking out in the open area by the main entrance pool if you choose to be there. I have a rate of $89/night, but if you can get a cheaper rate then rock on!

*** We will be having a meeting this Sunday (Nov. 5th) at 7pm at the Holiday Inn lounge to try to get addresses and information for people we don't have contact information for yet. If you would like to come and help us, please bring your yearbook, a phonebook, and cell phone.***

Reunion Update

I sent this out in email for the one's I have but for those of you who I don't have emails for this is what I sent: You can either reply to me by email or in the comments section for this post

Hey Everyone - Just trying to get the reunion finalized

Ok so here's the deal: It's definently the weekend after Thanksgiving which is Saturday, November 25th.

I need to know what you guys would prefer to do
A. Have drinks, DJ @ Holiday Inn Moline avg. $20/person
B. Meet at a bar Saturday night and have drinks
C. Other location (give suggestions)

I'm concerned with how many people will be here. The more people, the less the cost would be to have it at the Holiday Inn. We need at LEAST 100 people at $20 a person just to cover the room charge, with no food. That will not include any liquor. Mike Ducey has offered to cover the cost for the DJ.

There are some people who have already reserved rooms at the Holiday Inn in Moline by the back pool area. If you call them 309-762-8811 tell them you are with the Moline High School reunion and we have a discounted rate of 89/night. I think most of us have rooms for both friday and saturday, and if you come out friday night we can do like a family night where kids can swim and etc. we can have our own little mini thing with snacks etc. and have a few beers.

We have to get a decision made on location. Please only respond if you plan on attending and let me know how many people (either you or you and spouse)

Reunion Update

ok so here's the lowdown:
-We definently have set the date for Nov. 24th & 25th, the weekend after Thanksgiving. The 24th will be more of a bar/bring whoever you want kind of night.
-Location is not set in stone yet, we're still trying to find the most efficient location
-Rooms have been discounted for us at the Moline Holiday Inn under Moline Class of 96 Reunion I believe. The price is $82/night, and ask for a room in the 300's because we're all going to try to get rooms by eachother. Their phone number is 309-762-8811.
-I'm still needing contact information for alot of people, so if you haven't contacted me yet with at least an email address, please do so. It will certainly help with future events as well.
-Another planning meeting will be held soon, those interested are still welcome to attend even if you didn't make it to the last one.

Clearing up the confusion

I got an email today from Sarah Haskins letting me know that she is *not* planning a reunion for Christmas. Here's a copy from her email:

9/19 "I didn't know if anyone else was going to put a reunion together and I thought people might be assuming that I would, so I did some research in May when I was back, so at least we could have a place to get together. I had told a few people that it would probably be over Christmas, but never notified anyone formally. A few weeks later I was forwarded your email about the reunion, so did not proceed any further. Let me just say, I was glad to see that you were organizing it!!"

Hopefully this clears up some confusion that has been out there!

Meeting for Reunion

The meeting for the reunion committee will be held on Sunday, Sept 17th at 2pm. It will be at the Moline Holiday Inn near the pool by the main entrance. Anyone interested in helping out is welcome to be there! Bring some ideas with you :)

Organizational Meeting

I will be holding an organizational meeting on Sunday, Sept 17th. Anyone interested in being on the planning committee please email me asap and I will send you the details. I already have a location reserved for the actual reunion, but if anyone has a possible location that would be cheap available to them, please let me know.

**We also need items to be donated for a raffle, so if the companies you work for can donate anything that would be very helpful, just send me an email about it.**

Moline Homecoming 2006

Apparently Homecoming this year falls on Sept 16th. I'd really like to know if anyone is interested in meeting up somewhere after the game before I try to plan something. Just leave a comment on this post if you are interested or send me an email. I was thinking we could either meet at Downtown Moline: Jack's Place, Speakeasy, Beer Stube OR 16th St Moline: Casey's, Belgrade, WonderY. We had a really good time last year and I'd love to do it again!

Classmate Spotlight

I've sent out emails to everyone that I have an email address for about the Classmate Spotlight. This is a form that you can fill out with information about what you've done since high school. I will be posting them probably once a week/month or so depending on how many I get back. Please include a current picture with your replies. Thanks for your help!

Homecoming

Last year a group of us met up at the Homecoming game. Apparently I hear that Homecoming is near the first week of school. If anyone is interested, we can meet at either Casey's or the Wunder Y (spelling?) after the game. Any questions please feel free to email me. Please leave a comment if you would like to join us so we know how many to expect!

Still Trying!

Hey everyone! It's funny now because ever since I started this, I hear about alot of people visiting this site, but I don't have their info! I would greatly appreciate it if I can keep getting addresses from you guys, it will really help us out alot. I've been seeing people from our class all over town, so that has been helping. Check out the list of names I already have info for, and if you are still in touch with people who are not on the list, please let me know, even if you just have their email address!

Photo Gallery is now working!

I have uploaded some pictures to our new photo gallery. You can click on the link to the right or click here to get to them. Please email me any pictures of you and your family or any pictures from people from our class. Each person will get their own photo album, so you can send me pictures anytime from now on!

July update

Hey everyone :) We're trying to think of something to do the night before the actual reunion, where you can bring your family. The Moline Holiday Inn is giving me a great deal on rooms (thanks to Heather Jenkins). I have a block of rooms available if you wanted to bring kids out to swim, mini golf, etc. The large open area by the pool would be a good place, and you can bring your own beer and stuff like that! If anyone has any suggestions, please let us know! I'll put more information up about reserving a room at the Holiday Inn soon!

The email list is growing, thanks to all of you. I still need many more addresses or emails, so if you know any from our class, please forward them to me andreaschoemaker@gmail.com

Moline 10 Year Class Reunion

It's that time everyone, our 10 year reunion has arrived. We are in the process of currently planning the event, and we've decided on November 25, 2006, which is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Soon we will be starting a e-mail list to get updated addresses before we mail out information.
